The intellectual property of tens of thousands of students will shine as an eye-opening academy  at the Arasady junction in the Koddaimunai area of Batticaloa, Bt/ Mahajana College, The Methodist Mission School was started by John Hilner on the 29th of January with 7 students.  Methodist Mission School admitted as a Government School in 1962. The school started under the name of Government Tamil Mixed School.

The school was functioning with grades 1 to 11 with the renaming of  Mahajana College since 1992 started running with Grade 1 - 11 with A/L arts section. Transformed into a women's college in 2004. Commerce stream was also started in GCE (A / L). In 2011 as a bilingual school teaching Tamil and English; Received a rise enrolled in 2013 under the Thousand Schools Program 1AB further elevated its status as a school with a G.C.E A/ L science stream. The school has successive development steps  GCE (A / L) section in Batticaloa Education Zone in the year 2014; As a girls' school in the technical stream and in the GCE (A / L) section; It is also a school with 5 streams.
